In a post on April 13, the 36-year-old former centre for the Philadelphia Eagles stood up for his brother Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, after a fan criticised him for drinking beer during their “commencement” ceremony at their most recent New Heights Live podcast event at the University of Cincinnati.
Speaking up for his brother is Jason Kelce!
Concerning his brother’s “graduation antics,” a fan first questioned Jason Kelce on X (previously Twitter), posing the question, “Doing what you did at a playoff game in Buffalo is one thing but doing that at the college where he got kicked off the team for acting like a jackass prob wasn’t best idea.”
In response, Jason clarified that there was no reason to be concerned because the brothers’ diploma ceremony wasn’t a true graduation ceremony.

He said, “I know the video makes it look like a graduation, but this was actually the conclusion of a New Heights Live podcast that we hosted to raise money for the University’s NIL.” “My brother and I never really picked up our diplomas, so the university did this to make fun of us.”
Jason and Travis Kelce , 34, hosted their New Heights Live podcast event on April 11 at the University of Cincinnati, where they were awarded diplomas in a “surprise commencement.”
During the ceremony, Travis Kelce emerged on stage wearing full graduation regalia and chugged a beer can in front of an appreciative audience before crushing it to the ground, as captured in a video that local Cincinnati Bengals radio host Dan Hoard uploaded on X. The university president, Dr. Neville Pinto, then gave him his diploma.
Obtaining a diploma…Hoard captioned the photo, saying, “Travis Kelce style @newheightshow.”
“A surprise commencement we’ll never forget,” the university continued in a post on X. Travis and Jason deserve congratulations for (finally) receiving their diplomas.”
According to Cincinnati Enquirer, neither of the brothers attended their graduating ceremonies, even though Travis Kelce graduated in 2022 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies and Jason with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
According to the site, Donna and Ed Kelce, the parents of Jason and Travis Kelce , attended the Fifth Third Arena diploma ceremony.
Before his well-known moment of drinking beer on stage, Travis Kelce was spotted earlier in the podcast taping, swaying to a marching band version of his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” while standing next to his brother.
